Some Links to Organisations and Societies

One of the best ways to find out about radio astronomy is to join a society where you can meet up with other like minded people to discuss your projects and ideas. In fact it was a talk at my local society by Professor Ian Morison from Jodrell Bank who inspired me to take an interest in radio astronomy.

The following website gives a very useful list of local astronomy societies in the UK.

As well as your local club, the British Astronomical Association is well worth joining as they have sections for various interests, including a radio astronomy section.

If you live in the UK, one of the most useful sites for acquiring equipment is the United Kingdom Radio Astronomy Association. This is a small group of people who design, build and sell radio astronomical equipment.
